On Friday, 30 August 2019 a training course was delivered in the grammar school “Bora Stanković” in Vranje to all users of the Energy Management Information System (EMIS) in public buildings in competence of the City of Vranje.

City of Vranje has appointed an energy manager this year and started introducing the energy management system and activities provided for by the Law on Efficient Use of Energy, the most important of which are: making an inventory of public buildings and accompanying meters, collecting data on energy consumption and costs, drafting energy balance sheet and annual energy savings report.

During the training, twenty-eight users from primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, city administrations, public and utility companies, local communities, cultural institutions in the territory of the City of Vranje received training in collecting and entering data into the Energy Management Information System (EMIS). Data entered in the system will be used to monitor energy consumption and costs, as well as to help local self-government to produce an annual energy consumption report and to monitor the realization of the energy savings target set on an annual basis by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

Trainees are persons who are, on behalf of budget users of the City of Vranje, in charge of collecting and entering data on energy consumption and costs, energy sources and water in the buildings which they have been assigned for. This will greatly assist the energy manager in the process of data collection for a large number of buildings in competence of the City of Vranje.

Training was delivered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) experts in the scope of the Project “Removing Barriers to Promote and Support Energy Management Systems in Municipalities throughout Serbia”.
