Contracts on Allocation of Grants for Co-Financing Energy Efficiency Projects in Municipalities

On Thursday 8th November 2018, Aleksandar Antić, minister of mining and energy in Palace of Serbia signed contracts on allocation of grants for co-financing of energy efficiency projects in public buildings in competence of local self-government with representatives of 14 local self-governments. The funds were allocated based on the results of public call addressed to local self-government units which the Ministry of Mining and Energy published in May this year.  As many as 39 local self-government units responded to the call and sent their project proposals. Among conditions for applying were the appointed energy manager in designated municipality and entered data on energy consumption and cost for energy into EMIS for building which is the subject of project proposal.

The total value of the signed contracts is 180 mil RSD. The Ministry of Mining and Energy contributes with 125 mil. RSD. The remaining co-financing is provided by local self-governments.

The following are the 14 municipalities with the best rated projects which met the criteria of the pubic call: Ljubovija, Gadžin Han, Svilajnac,  Osečina, Krupanj, Irig, Kraljevo, Kragujevac, Ćuprija, Velika Plana, Kanjiža, Bosilegrad, Bela Palanka i Knjaževac.

Except for Mr Aleksandar Antić, minister of mining and energy, the ceremony was attended by Mr Stevica Dedjanski, State Secretary, Mr Miloš Banjac, Assistant Minister, mayors of fourteen selected municipalities, as well as representatives of institutions of the Republic of Serbia, local self-governments and media.

Minister Antic stressed that the budgetary fund for energy efficiency will be significantly increased in 2019 and will amount to 500 mil RSD, which was the total amount in previous four years. The Minister announced the establishment of the Energy Efficiency Fund which will amount to 10 mil EUR annual with additional contributions from EU.
